Greg is a senior financial advisor and private investor. He has over 25 years of experience as an investment banker in the Canadian and U.S. capital markets and a proven track record of building market-leading investment banking franchises.
He had been Vice Chairman of Scotia Capital, the capital markets division of Scotiabank, and Head of Diversified Industries at TD Securities, the capital markets division of TD Bank. Greg began his investment banking career in New York with Salomon Bros. after practicing corporate securities law in Toronto for several years. Prior to co-founding 2RL, Greg had success with several private companies as both an advisor and investor.
Greg has broad experience providing strategic and financing advice to some of Canada’s leading corporations, entrepreneurs and families and has extensive knowledge in numerous business sectors including, retail, consumer, industrial, agribusiness, transportation, business services, infrastructure and real estate.
Greg earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Toronto Law School and a Bachelor of Economics from York University.
Michael has a 20-year history as an entrepreneur, and has co-founded and grown numerous businesses, including a law firm, a venture capital group, a multi-national computer hardware distributor, and a Canadian junior resource company developing HBI assets.
Michael is a founding partner at Ormston List Frawley LLP, where his practice focused on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, secured lending and general commercial advice. Michael is also a founding principal at GreenSky Capital, a group of venture capital funds that invests in early-stage Canadian IT, MedTech and CleanTech companies.
Michael has had a number of successful exits, including the 2009 sale of a currency exchange brokerage and the 2018 sale of a daycare company that employed 120+ staff and provided childcare to 500+ children in the greater Toronto area.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Queen’s University.
Sean has a 25-year track record as an entrepreneur and financial services professional. Over his career he has successfully built and sold various businesses including most recently Markland Street Asset Management. Sean grew Markland to $500 million in assets under management and the business was sold to Manulife in 2009. Sean was nominated for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2008.
Sean spent seven years at Manulife leading and building several businesses including a closed-end fund business (3 TSX-listed IPOs totaling $500 million), a capital markets group, a mid-market M&A advisory unit, and a high net worth unit (now Manulife Private Wealth). Prior to creating Markland Sean spent 10 years at Scotia Capital in its investment banking unit. Laterally he was Head of Equity Private Placements which completed over $1 billion in financings while he led the group.
Sean holds an Honours Business Administration degree from The University of Western Ontario and the CFA designation.
